Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Every other weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
* All requested time off must be finalized at time of submission; no schedule requests can be made post-offer or on-site
* No requested time off permitted during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
* If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, no holiday time off can be requested
* If three major holidays fall during assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered
* Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Patient ratio of 4 patients per nurse for days, nights, and weekends
* 12 orientation hours required
* Treats patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* 59-bed emergency department with a daily census of 250 visits
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Level 3 trauma center in process; primary stroke, CHF, STEMI, and chest pain center designations
* Special equipment includes Arctic Sun and Glucommander
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
* Required skills: care of ventilated patients, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage; preferred skills: continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration and monitoring
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission

Facility:

This facility is a large healthcare organization with an emergency department consisting of 59 beds and a daily census of 250 patient visits. The department operates as a primary stroke center and chest pain center with CHF and STEMI capabilities, and is currently in the process of achieving Level 3 trauma designation. The facility is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, social services, and more.
