Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

* Work 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
* Night shift hours from 6:00 PM (1800) to 6:30 AM (0630)
* Every other weekend required with rotating holiday schedule
* Perform routine therapies to aid in treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status
* Perform and document emergency rounds, oxygen saturation checks, and titrate oxygen per protocol
* Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation, making parameter recommendations based on clinical assessment and patient status
* Adhere to universal precautions and proper body mechanics when performing therapies
* Conduct patient assessments to determine treatment needs including medication delivery and oxygen administration through therapist driven protocols
* Assess patients clinically before and after administration of any medication, procedure, or device and recommend appropriate therapy
* Monitor, assess, educate, and document patient and family on therapies, medications, and equipment during treatment
* Demonstrate competence in set-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators, noninvasive ventilation devices, therapeutic bronchoscopies, and pulmonary function screens
* Clean using high-level disinfection, assemble, and maintain equipment and stock departmental supplies
* Respond to emergent care situations and assist with resuscitation including chest compressions, airway management, and ventilator support per AHA guidelines
* Transport adult patients on mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and critically ill patients to intrahospital procedures and testing
* Provide developmentally appropriate care to pediatric and adult patient populations
* Participate in community education events related to respiratory care procedures and treatments
* Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program required (education verification required)
* Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required
* RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification with the National Board for Respiratory Care required
* AHA Provider Level BLS certification required
* NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
