Job Details:

* Self-scheduling with no block schedules required
* 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios: 1:4 during days and nights, 1:5 on weekends
* 48-hour shifts are not approved
* May float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Unit consists of 29 beds with a daily census of 27 patients
* Most admissions come from the ED, ICU, or PACU
* Works closely with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach
* Patient diagnoses include TIA/Stroke, Trauma, Epilepsy Monitoring, and Neurosurgical patients (ACDF, TLIF, XLIF, Craniotomy, Subdural Hematoma)
* Epilepsy Monitoring Unit includes 4 designated beds for continuous EEG monitoring
* Current Electronic Health Record system: EPIC
* Fast-paced working environment with high level of teamwork
* Special equipment includes Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN): solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire; print tops are not acceptable
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lots designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* Required certification: BLS
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Level II Trauma experience preferred
* Charting system experience required; any system accepted
* Required skills include: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration and management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, neuro stepdown, telemetry remote monitoring, CVA, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, pre/post neurosurgery, and post TPA care
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility operates 379 staffed beds and holds a Level II Trauma Center designation. The facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and includes a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Interdisciplinary support services include IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary support. The organization is committed to providing dedicated mentors to support new caregivers and fosters a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.
