Job Details:

* Work in an 86-bed Adult Emergency Department with acuity-based patient ratios, typically 4:1 with surge capacity as needed
* Day shift staffing includes 7 RNs with CNC and additional staff brought in every 2 hours, reaching 18-20 RNs total during peak hours
* Night shift staffing includes 6-7 RNs with CNC support
* Must pick up 4 weekend shifts per month
* Dress code requires navy blue scrub tops, bottoms, and jacket
* EMR system: Meditech experience required
* Expertise in caring for an acute patient population required
* Can-do attitude, high energy, and great communication skills required
* Trauma center experience preferred
* Perform airway and respiratory procedures including oxygen administration, suctioning, bag-valve-mask ventilation, RSI assistance, endotracheal tube management, ventilator initiation, CPAP/BiPAP monitoring, and chest tube management
* Perform vascular access procedures including peripheral IV insertion, ultrasound-guided IVs, central line assistance, intraosseous insertion, arterial line assistance, blood specimen collection, and PICC line management
* Perform trauma procedures including primary and secondary trauma assessments, cervical collar application, spinal immobilization, hemorrhage control, trauma resuscitation, and massive transfusion protocol implementation
* Perform cardiac and critical care procedures including 12-lead ECG acquisition, continuous cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, ACLS resuscitation, code blue participation, STEMI protocol activation, and vasopressor administration
* Perform neurological emergency procedures including stroke assessments (NIHSS), stroke alert activation, seizure management, and neuro checks
* Perform pediatric emergency procedures including pediatric IV insertion, resuscitation, Broselow tape utilization, neonatal stabilization, and pediatric procedural sedation monitoring
* Support Level II Trauma Center skills including massive transfusion protocols, advanced burn stabilization, amputation management, crush injury management, and trauma activation coordination
* Administer medications including IV push medications, continuous IV infusions, blood products, procedural sedation medications, thrombolytics, and emergency medications
* Perform gastrointestinal and genitourinary procedures including nasogastric tube insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and gastric decompression
* Perform wound and orthopedic procedures including wound irrigation, laceration repair assistance, splint application, fracture stabilization, and orthopedic reduction assistance
* Manage sepsis alerts, activate stroke/STEMI alerts, conduct patient education, and coordinate transfers
* Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, ENPC, NIH
