RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

* 8 or 12 hour weekday shifts available with weekend requirement of 2 out of 3 weekends
* Weekend shifts run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Scheduling options include weekend only contract (every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) or night contract (all 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM shifts with weekend commitment)
* Skillset must include Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborns (Level 1 and Level 2 nursery) - must be able to perform all, not just Labor & Delivery
* Can be a dual OB/General Med contract or OB only
* Provide care for OB triage, labor & delivery, postpartum, well-newborn, and special care nursery patients including IV, antibiotics, and short-term respiratory support (CPAP or O2)
* Care for GYN surgical patients
* Minimum 2 years of experience required including interpretation of fetal monitor strips, attendance at vaginal delivery, and immediate care and resuscitation of newborn
* Primarily work in Women's Center department with potential float to General Medical unit if OB census is low
* Two OB trained staff required in house at all times
* Nurse to patient ratios: 1:2-3 mom/baby couplets, 1:2 early labor, 1:1 active labor, 1:3 post-op
* 12 bed unit with 2 triage, 5 LRDP, and 5 overflow postpartum/GYN surgical rooms
* Utilize EPIC computer charting, OBIX with central monitoring for fetal monitor strips, and Acudose medication dispensing cabinet
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (hospital washed scrubs provided)
* All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
* BSN not required
* Must be local within 80 miles of facility

The facility features a 12-bed unit equipped with advanced monitoring technology and modern medication dispensing systems.
