Job Details:
* 13-week assignment working 3x12 night shifts
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period with the possibility of being called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for both days and nights
* Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend and is subject to staffing needs
* May float to like/similar medical-surgical units as needed to meet facility needs
* Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
* Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model is utilized on this unit - each patient is assigned 1 bedside RN, 1 Virtual RN, and 1 CNA
* Virtual nurse works remotely and assists with admission questions, discharge education, care plans, CIWA, and MD follow-up
* Care for adult and geriatric patients with surgical diagnoses including colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, EENT, and wound care
* Care for medical patients with diagnoses including cancer, lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorder
* Telemetry monitoring required
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrubs are provided by the facility
* Parking is free
* Required certifications: BLS
* Required skills: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Alaska RN license required; pending license accepted but must have license in hand for auto offer
* No on-call requirements
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of submittal
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
