RN - ICU
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS prior to start
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* General diagnoses include ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
* Patient ratio is 1:2-3; travelers should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient
* Unit has 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19
* Unit systems include Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Block scheduling is not guaranteed
* Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
* Floating within facility and scope of practice may be required
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three holidays fall during assignment, one holiday RTO may be considered
* Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Orientation hours: 12
* Required skills include care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery, post neurosurgery management, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
* Special equipment includes cardiac monitoring, BIS, train of four, Arctic Sun, FloTrac, and IABP
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
