Job Details:
* Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios based on acuity
* Float required to meet needs of facility and department
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* 2 years of emergency room experience required; first-time travelers accepted with emergency room experience
* South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (American Heart Association only)
* Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
* Epic charting experience required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* No parking cost
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Emergency department with 37 rooms and approximately 130 visits per day
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Special equipment includes Belmont and bedside ultrasound
* Key skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, isolation precautions and PPE, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, and triage
* Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams, with peak activity in August and September
Facility:
This acute care hospital features a 286-bed facility offering comprehensive emergency department services to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics. The emergency department includes 37 rooms and sees approximately 130 visits per day, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke certified, utilizing Epic as its charting system and maintaining high standards of patient care across a wide range of emergency diagnoses and procedures.
