Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg Tele (Stroke & High Acuity)

Job Details:

* 13 or 26 week contract options available
* Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
* Weekend coverage: every other weekend
* Float required - may be floated to other units based on need and skill set
* Staffing ratio: 1:6 on nights
* Patient age groups: adults and geriatrics
* Medication system: Omnicell
* Must have at least 1 year of Epic EMR experience
* Previous charge experience required
* Travel experience required - no first-time travelers
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Active Tennessee RN license required
* Patient diagnoses include: Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Syncope, Pneumonia, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Cath, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, CHF, and Sepsis
* Procedures and skills include: peritoneal dialysis, continuous bladder irrigation, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, heparin and insulin administration, telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, PCA management, PICC line management, high flow nasal cannula, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

Facility:

This facility operates a specialized inpatient unit focused on stroke, TIA, and higher acuity medical-surgical patients, with a strong emphasis on patient experience. The unit consists of 30 beds and maintains a daily census of 27, supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team. The facility is equipped to perform specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation, and provides 24-hour support through rapid response teams and a wide range of ancillary services.
