Opportunity:
Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Oncology
Job Details:
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required based on unit needs
* Float required within skillset, may float to the main New Brunswick campus connected by a pedestrian bridge
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Local candidates accepted
* Required certifications: BLS and Chemo (ONS/ONCC); ACLS preferred
* Active NJ or Compact license required
* Scrub color: Navy blue
* Charting system: EPIC
* Treats patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Skills required include administration of chemotherapy, continuous infusion of chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, monitoring chemotherapy, body fluid handling post chemotherapy, management and disposal of cytotoxic spills, anaphylaxis response, accessing and managing ports, inpatient oncology, and recognizing and managing side effects
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* All requested time off must be submitted with application and approved prior to offer
* Block scheduling is not approved
