Opportunity:

Urology Exp Outpatient Clinic RN

Job Details:

* Outpatient urology clinic setting serving adult and geriatric patients
* No on-call, no weekends, and no holidays required
* Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 6-8 patients with a daily census of 16 and approximately 8 visits per day
* Catheter exchanges are the majority of the job and must have been performed consistently within the last 6 months - this is a hard stop requirement
* Responsible for intravesicular BCG mixing and administration, trial of void, trial of passage, suprapubic catheter exchange, and self-catheterization instruction
* Will treat patients with diagnoses including urine retention, kidney stones, chronic catheterization, bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, BPH, hematuria, and urinary tract infections
* Expected skills include foley catheter insertion and management, dressing changes, triage, telephone triage, urine dipstick and urinalysis, aseptic and sterile procedure tray setup, obtaining vital signs, pain assessment, and interpretation of laboratory results
* May be expected to train for telephone triage if extending contract
* Epic charting system experience required
* Urology background required; ER, pre/post-op, day surgery, ambulatory, or home health experience a plus
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Travel experience required; seasoned traveler preferred
* Must have outpatient clinic experience and recent catheter exchange experience
* Required certification: BLS
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
