Opportunity:

RN - Oncology

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend required with rotating holiday schedule
* 29-bed oncology unit on the 7th floor - travelers work on floor only
* Patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
* Nurse aides available, generally 3 per day
* Charge nurse provided outside of the staffing grid except in unusual circumstances
* Telemetry monitoring available via central monitor - reading strips not required
* Floating rarely required, only to medical acute unit
* 3-day floor-specific orientation provided
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* Common diagnoses include acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, oncology, and end of life care
* Outpatient area patients may come to floor to finish treatment if outpatient area closes
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
* Must reside within 75 miles of facility - must provide proof at time of submission
* 1 year of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment - no first-time travelers
* ONS certification required if administering chemotherapy with a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred

The facility utilizes MEDITECH as its electronic medical records system and maintains a structured staffing model to support both patients and clinical staff.
