RN - Vascular Access

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts
* Self-scheduling
* Patient ratio of 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts per contract if able
* 8 hours of orientation
* Pre-approved time off: one request allowed
* Vascular access experience at a pediatric hospital required
* Ultrasound-guided PIV placement experience required
* Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Inpatient experience preferred
* Emergency department experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Sonosite equipment used on unit
* Performs PICC line placement and ultrasound-guided PIV procedures
* Cares for patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* Patient diagnoses include respiratory, sepsis, cardiac, surgery, and trauma
* 144-bed facility with a daily census of 107-115 patients
* Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services and unit secretary
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), BSN, CA RN License
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal

This is a large academic medical center and teaching hospital with 144 beds and a daily census ranging from 107 to 115 patients. The unit utilizes advanced imaging technology and supports an interdisciplinary care team including interpretation services and unit secretaries.
