Opportunity:

RN - Neuro Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* Two weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
* Patient ratio of 6:1
* 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit
* Tech support available on both day and night shifts
* Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Document using Meditech system
* Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
* Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
* Conduct bedside shift reports and include patients and family members in their plan of care
* Required skills include ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
* Contract labor is first to float with rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
* Required certifications: BLS
* Active RN license required
* Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required

The unit is equipped with modern technology and staffed with experienced personnel to support both patients and clinical staff.
