Opportunity:
RN - Labor and Delivery
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts with times of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Rotating weekend schedule with every other weekend required
* No on-call responsibilities
* One major and one minor holiday expected
* Schedule made in 3-week increments
* Time off requests must go through manager
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Strong labor and delivery experience required including cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnio infusion, epidural support, fetal monitoring, IV skills, and Pitocin administration
* Post-partum experience required including couplet care once mom and baby are stable and basic breastfeeding support
* Experience with HUGS Security system and Pyxis required
* Scrub experience preferred
* Care for Level II Perinatal Center patients at 32 weeks and above
* Manage hypertension, magnesium administration, medication management for substance abuse, and fetal monitoring
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN and NANN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active laboring patients
* Float between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units as needed; will not float to START unit
* EMR system: EPIC Stork and GE Centricity
* IV pumps: Alaris
* Medication dispensing: Pyxis
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or Relia's module)
Facility:
This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds offering comprehensive women's and newborn services. The labor and delivery unit includes 9 LDR rooms, 2 OB ORs, 2 OB PACU rooms, an 11-bed Level II NICU, a 4-bed pediatric unit, a 20-bed Mother/Baby unit, an 18-bed START unit for perinatal addiction support, and 3 OB ED beds for patients 20 weeks and above. The facility delivers approximately 175 to 200 babies per month and provides robust support services including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, a laborist OB/GYN, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and midwife and family practice groups.
