Ambulatory OR RN
Job Details:
* Work 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* Scheduled day off based on department needs, with special requests considered when possible
* Scheduled late stay approximately 5-8 days per month, used approximately 3-4 times per month
* No on-call required
* Possibility of floating within the Perioperative facility
* Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
* Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-week period
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Experience required in Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, Total Joints, and ENT
* Unit does not perform general surgery, labor and delivery, or pediatrics
* Candidates should be well-rounded in specialties that align with the facility's caseload
* Care for patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 10-20 patients across five ORs
* Patient ratio of 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Prepare patients prior to surgery by reviewing history, reconciling home medications, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs when applicable, starting IVs, monitoring blood glucose, hanging IV fluids and antibiotics, and administering pre-op medications
* Monitor post-anesthesia patients through recovery phases and review discharge instructions
* Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR nurses in a fast-paced environment
* Surgical procedures include knee, shoulder, ankle, wrist, elbow, and hip arthroscopies, ACL, MPFL, rotator cuff repairs, Latarjet procedures, hand and elbow cases, foot and ankle cases, total hips, knees, shoulders, and limited spine cases
* Utilize standard OR equipment including Skytron slider beds, Neptune suction, Stryker power tools, Arthrex integrated arthroscopy, mini-C and large-C arms, Hanna Table, Trios Table, Zeiss Microscope, and orthopedic positioning equipment
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* RN with scrub ability is a plus but not required
* South Carolina or Compact nursing license required
* Required certifications: BLS
* Radiation badge must be provided by parent company
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
