Inpatient SLP Days

Job Details:

* Day shift schedule with 45-minute long treatment sessions
* Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage a speech caseload of 10-14 patients between acute and rehab settings
* Average daily census on rehab unit is 8-9 patients within an 18-bed rehab unit
* Complete evaluations and treatments for rehab patients with swallowing, language, and cognitive deficits
* Work with patients diagnosed with stroke, Parkinson's disease, other neurological conditions, swallowing deficits, and cognitive deficits
* Required skills include: Acute Care, Dysphagia, Bedside Swallow Evaluation, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Passy Muir Valves, Trach/Vent, Patient/Family Education, Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices, and standardized assessments including ALPS, BIMS, BAE, CADL, CELF, NOMS, PICA, WAB, and others
* Charting experience required; Epic system used
* Must be willing to float to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs
* 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS
* Valid Kansas SLP license required and must be in hand at time of submission

This inpatient facility operates an 18-bed rehabilitation unit providing specialized speech-language pathology services to adult and geriatric patients. The facility supports a multidisciplinary approach to care, treating a diverse caseload including patients with neurological conditions, swallowing deficits, and cognitive impairments across both acute and rehab settings. The organization utilizes Epic for charting and is committed to delivering comprehensive rehabilitative care to its patient population.
