Opportunity:

RN - Renal Med Surg

Job Details:

* Care for adult and geriatric patients in a Renal Med Surg setting
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with a 49-room unit and average daily census of 48
* Every other weekend shift required
* No on-call requirements
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* Holiday coverage required - if one or two major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required charting system: Epic
* Additional unit systems include Pyxis and SBAR
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required certification: BLS
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Key skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, telemetry, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, and IV starts
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Special equipment includes lifting equipment
* Orientation hours: 12 hours
* Self-scheduling model
