Lab - Medical Lab Scientist
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license must be in hand at time of submission - this is a hard stop requirement
* Required certifications: ASCP-MLS, California Lab Scientist
* Epic charting system experience required
* Community hospital experience required
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Recent blood bank experience required
* Generalist role covering hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, serology, and limited microbiology
* Blood bank coverage typically included if traveler extends
* No antibody ID required
* Float required - travelers will cover Observation Unit which holds ER patients
* Variable weekend schedule to meet department needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* RTO restricted to no more than 7 days
* Scrubs acceptable; no jeans or logo tees; business casual dress code
* Proficient in a broad range of laboratory skills including blood banking procedures, specimen collection and processing, CBC manual, urinalysis, culture plating, transfusion reaction workup, and PCR testing
* Serves patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Fast-paced environment supporting Trauma Level 3, Open Heart/2 Cath Labs, and an active Oncology Clinic
Facility:
This fast-paced acute care facility operates as a Trauma Level 3 center with advanced cardiac capabilities including Open Heart Surgery and two Catheterization Labs. The facility also supports an active Oncology Clinic serving approximately 600 patients per month. The laboratory department is a comprehensive generalist environment supporting a wide range of diagnostic testing and patient care services across multiple age groups and specialties.
