Job Details:

* Rotating day and afternoon shifts with a combination of 2 eight-hour shifts and 2 twelve-hour shifts per week
* Day 12-hour shifts run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM; Day 8-hour shifts run from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
* Afternoon 12-hour shifts run from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM or 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM; Afternoon 8-hour shifts may start at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, or 2:30 PM
* Occasional weekend shifts required; at least 1-2 travelers scheduled on weekends in 12-hour blocks from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM
* Travelers are expected to take 20-30 hours of standby call per 4-week period with a 30-minute call response time required
* Holiday call is open for discussion
* 2 cancellation shifts permitted per 13-week contract
* Must be able to circulate independently
* Strong orthopedic background required
* Facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center with 24/7 poly trauma response
* Service lines include orthopedics (major joints, spines, sports medicine, trauma), neurosurgery (craniotomies and spines), surgical oncology, urology, GYN, bariatric surgery, ENT (head and neck free flaps, reconstruction, and basic ENT), and ophthalmology (retina, cataracts, and oculoplasty)
* Xi Robotics experience is a bonus but not required
* Floating may occur between two OR areas depending on experience
* Scrubbing is not required for RNs
* Travelers will not be placed in charge nurse or house supervisor roles
* Charge nurse coverage is available 24/7
* OR Techs are utilized in the department
* Orientation provided covering both OR areas totaling 2-3 shifts, including EPIC orientation
* Charting system: EPIC OP-Time
* Equipment includes Bovie machines, forced air warmers, Neptune suction, drill consoles, Xi Robotics, Ligasure, and Argon Beam
* Scrubs are provided by the facility
* Required certification: BLS
* BSN not required

This acute care facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center with 33 total operating room suites across two locations, handling an average of 80-120 cases per day. The facility supports a comprehensive range of surgical service lines including orthopedics, neurosurgery, robotics-assisted surgery, bariatric, ENT, and ophthalmology. The organization maintains 24/7 charge nurse coverage and utilizes EPIC OP-Time as its electronic medical records system, providing a well-supported environment for surgical teams.
