RN - Float Pool

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (night shift)
* Float pool position covering ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU across both campuses, including inpatients holding in ED
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must work 2 of 3 major holidays as part of permanent staff rotation
* First to float when staffing needs arise
* Standby/on-call requirement on shifts with excessive staff - may be called in at any point during a 12-hour standby shift
* Notified of unit assignment via text message 2 hours prior to shift start
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
* At least 1 year of ICU experience required
* Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
* Common patient populations include geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4
* Must be able to interpret cardiac monitor strips
* RT equipment includes CPAP/BiPAP in MedSurg and BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow in PCU
* Nurse aides available in all settings
* Charge nurses present on each unit and do not take patient assignments
* Charting system: Cerner
* Solid color professional scrubs required (transitioning to Navy scrubs per updated guidelines)
* Orientation includes 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour shift at West MedSurg Tele, and 12-hour shift at PCU West
* Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
* Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4-week periods; travelers must be flexible
* Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
