CVICU Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
* Every other weekend required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for nights and weekends
* May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed
* Unit welcomes first-time travelers
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Scrub color: Navy
* Valid RN license required at time of submission
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of cardiac surgical and cardiac medical patients with occasional adult medical ICU overflow
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, sheath removal, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

This facility is a comprehensive acute care hospital offering specialized intensive care services across multiple units including cardiovascular, medical, neurological, and burn ICUs. The unit operates with a 24-bed CVICU maintaining a daily census of 20 patients and supports a robust interdisciplinary care team. The facility provides a dynamic and well-supported environment for experienced critical care nurses.
