Open Position: RN - PACU

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour mid shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
* Weekends scheduled as required
* All staff work three 12-hour shifts with designated day and night shifts available
* No self-scheduling; block and variable positions available
* Call schedule includes assigned weekend call approximately once every three months, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Call response time is 60 minutes
* Holiday call on assigned rotation with no more than one major holiday per year
* Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* 17-bed PACU unit operating Phase 1 only
* PACU experience preferred; ICU or ED experience also considered helpful
* Manage occasional ventilator patients as well as BiPAP/CPAP patients with RT support
* ICU patients may recover in PACU when no ICU beds are available, including overnight holds
* Perform EKGs and monitor patients on central monitoring system; review EKGs and consult physician for official reads
* No floating requirements to other units
* Scrubs are provided daily through an on-site vending system and returned at the end of each shift
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS

Facility:

This acute care facility features a 17-bed PACU unit operating on Phase 1 recovery with a dedicated team lead structure to support staff and ensure quality patient care. The surgical services department provides scrubs through a convenient vending machine system, and the unit is supported by respiratory therapy for initial setup and rounding. The facility maintains a collaborative environment with physician consultation available for EKG reads and comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
