Opportunity:
RN - Float Pool
Job Details:
* Float pool assignment covering ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU units across both campuses including inpatients holding in ED
* 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must work 2 of 3 major holidays as part of permanent staff rotation
* First to float when staffing needs arise
* Standby/on-call requirement possible - may be placed on standby for a 12-hour shift and called in at any point during those hours
* Unit assignments communicated via text message from staffing office 2 hours prior to shift start
* Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4-week periods; travelers must be flexible
* Night shift will attempt to accommodate block scheduling
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
* Nurse aides utilized in all settings
* At least 1 year of ICU experience required
* Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
* Common patient populations include geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cath lab, post MI, post cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4 patients
* Must be able to interpret cardiac monitor strips
* RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP in MedSurg and BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow in PCU
* Charting system: Cerner
* Solid color professional scrubs required (transitioning to Navy scrubs per updated dress code guidelines)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to signing contract
* 50-mile radius rule applies
* Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
* Orientation includes an 8-hour general hospital orientation day, one 12-hour shift at West MedTele, and one 12-hour shift at PCU West
