Med Surg Neuro Days

Job Details:

* Day shift position on a 32-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week scheduling options available; anything over 48 hours is considered overtime
* Self-scheduling
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
* Float to like units as needed; no on-call required
* 1 year of recent Med Surg experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system used
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay); CPI preferred
* Rapid response team activation experience required
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
