Opportunity:

RN - Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4
* Block scheduling type
* Float to other units possible
* No on-call requirements
* Up to two pre-approved time off requests allowed
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Must have experience with Epic charting system
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line care and management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, managing cardiac drips without titration, managing vasoactive drips without titration, management of dysrhythmias, non-invasive airway management, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, peripheral line care and management, and use of rapid response and code teams
* Work with special equipment including BIPAP/CPAP, IPPB, and HHF
* Perform special procedures including emergent cardioversion and central line placement
* Common patient diagnoses include heart failure, TAVR, CABG, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, renal failure, and respiratory failure
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

Facility:

This facility operates a 24-bed Progressive Care, Stepdown, and Telemetry floor with a daily census of approximately 23 patients. The facility is a comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, and Chest Pain Accredited facility with the capability to provide complex care to PCI and open-heart surgery patients. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care across a wide range of complex medical conditions.
