Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12 hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* 50-mile radius rule, no local candidates
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Must demonstrate knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients across age groups including Adults and Geriatrics
* Float to other units required as long as competencies are met
* Document thoroughly as care is delivered following regulatory and hospital requirements
* Ability to work varied shifts and/or days including weekends and holidays
* Must be proficient with computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software
* Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, interpersonal communication, and ability to prioritize workload
* Must be able to work in a busy, stressful environment and adapt to practice changes to meet patient safety requirements
* Common patient diagnoses include: Sepsis, CIWA, Confusion/AMS, COPD, Post-op care, AKI, Trauma, Respiratory failure, Bowel obstruction, Pyelonephritis, Cardiac conditions, Diabetes, GI conditions, Isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Chest tubes, Colostomy/ileostomy management, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), Feeding tube care and management, Heparin, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Insulin, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Isolation Precautions/PPE, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, PCA, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Post MI care, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Starting and maintaining IVs, Tracheostomy care/management, Traumatic Brain Injury, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, and Wound Care/Wound Vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
