Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Care for medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patients
* Manage patient conditions including ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD), spinal precautions, DKA, multi-system trauma, sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, COPD, and stroke
* Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, with potential for a third patient during transitions
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; PALS preferred
* Neuro and trauma experience are an absolute must, including EVD and ICP monitoring
* Skills required: ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke experience, hemodynamic lines (A-lines/CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and strong assessment skills
* Charge nurse experience should be noted at time of submission
* PICU experience preferred but not required; may float to PICU if experienced and need arises
* Float opportunities to Cardiac Care Unit, Cardiac Stepdown, Medical Stepdown, and PICU
* Charting system: Cerner (preferred experience); equipment includes Alaris and Pyxis
* Weekend rotation: every other weekend (Day shift: Saturday/Sunday; Night shift: Friday/Saturday)
* No on-call responsibilities
* Holiday schedule varies based on need; all holiday requests must be submitted to manager for approval
* Time off requests to be approved by manager
* Scrub color: any solid color, must be professional
* Free parking available in designated areas

Facility:

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 411 beds, featuring a 26-bed ICU that includes negative pressure rooms. The unit is supported around the clock by a resource nurse and house supervisor, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist available for consult. The trauma surgery team monitors their own patients, and physical and occupational therapy services are available Monday through Friday, ensuring comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients.
