Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac Cath Lab
Job Details:
* 5x8 day shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday
* Patient ratio of 1:1
* Occasional late days approximately 4-5 days per month, rarely working past 5:00 PM on those days
* Call requirement of one day per week and every fifth weekend
* Float as needed within or near the facility
* No weekend requirement
* 13 to 26 week contracts accepted
* 16 hours of unit orientation required
* Scrubs provided
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT CI
* Required work settings experience: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
* Required procedures: Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult, IABP Placement/Removal, Interventional Catheterizations, Left Heart Catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz Monitoring, Right Heart Catheterization
* Required medication experience: Antiarrhythmics, Antihypertensives, Emergency Medications, IV Vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Reversal Agents, Thrombolytics
* Required IV therapy skills: Blood Product Administration, IV Infusion Pumps, Starting IVs
* Required professional skills: 12 Lead EKG, Activated Clotting Time (ACT), Cardioversion, Circulate Procedures, Infection Prevention, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions, Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols, Monitoring Procedural Sedation, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, Sheath Removal and Monitoring
* Preferred procedures: ASD Closures, Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Impella Insertion, Rotablator Atherectomy, Scrub Procedures, TAVI/TAVR
* Preferred vascular procedures: Angioplasty, Dialysis Graft Interventional, Upper and Lower Extremity Angiography
* Preferred IV therapy skills: Assist with Central Line Insertion/Management, Implanted Ports Care and Maintenance, PICC Lines Care and Maintenance
* Preferred professional skills: End-Tidal CO2 Monitoring, External Compression Devices, Hypothermia Protocols, Laser Assisted Procedures, Pressure Ulcer Assessment/Prevention, Radiation and Laser Safety, Topical Hemostasis, Vascular Closure Systems, Ventilator Monitoring
* Special equipment used: Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, Shockwave, ACIST, and GE Mac Lab System
* Unit systems: Pyxis, SBAR, Epic
* Treat adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular diagnoses including coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular disease, congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and pericardial disease
* Perform and assist with special procedures including PCI, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, PFO/ASD closure, cardiogenic shock management, and CTO procedures
Facility:
This facility operates a specialized cardiac catheterization lab equipped with advanced technology to support a wide range of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The unit maintains a daily census of 18 patients across 5 procedure rooms and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, and interpretation services. The team is experienced in complex cardiovascular interventions and utilizes cutting-edge imaging and monitoring systems to deliver high-quality patient care.
