Opportunity:

RN - ER/ED Float

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts
* Every other weekend required, or the equivalent number (6-9 shifts) within a 6-week scheduling period
* Every other holiday required
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Must float within Zone 3 (based around Denver City Center) - no home base facility
* Zone 3 facilities include: OrthoColorado Hospital (Lakewood), Longmont United Hospital (Longmont), St. Anthony Hospital (Lakewood), St. Anthony North Hospital (Westminster), and 84th Ave Emergency Room (Westminster)
* All facilities are within a 60-mile radius of Denver City Center
* Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
* Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats: Option A - scheduled at a single facility for the week with possible floating within that facility, or Option B (Just-In-Time) - facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call
* Travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
* 2-3 days of unit/department-specific orientation required; must be in state for week of orientation
* Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently
* Will be trained to perform Point-of-Care lab testing
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
* Patient volume ranges from 40-168 patients per day depending on location
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
* Standard ER drips and medications used
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
* Colorado nursing license required
* BSN not required

Facility:

This float pool opportunity spans multiple acute care emergency departments across Zone 3, covering facilities within a 60-mile radius of Denver City Center. The facilities range in trauma designation, with the majority being STEMI and stroke receiving centers. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 across locations, and each facility is supported by charge nurses, unit secretaries, and patient care technicians who assist nursing staff and support triage operations.
