RN - MS/Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
* Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance by leadership; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
* All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
* Traveler cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract; missed shifts can be made up on the front or back end of requested time off
* Must submit a 2-week notice to avoid back-out penalty fee
* Float pool position covering multiple units including General MS-Tele and various specialties: Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
* Must float within Zone 1 facilities within a 60-mile radius of Colorado Springs, CO (Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More)
* No home base facility; traveler must live 60 miles from each facility and obtain housing that makes floating throughout the full zone feasible
* Schedules follow one of two formats: assigned to a single facility for the week with possible floating within that facility, or Just-In-Time (JIT) where facility is assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
* May be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgicals, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
* Required to titrate Heparin drips
* RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPap used on unit
* Nurse aids available on unit
* Charting system: EPIC
* Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of MS-Tele experience; prior neuro experience preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
