RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population includes adults to geriatrics
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-room unit with an average daily census of 35
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
* Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; no RTO during orientation week
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* Holiday coverage expected: if 1?2 major holidays fall within the assignment, all must be worked; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment, 2 must be worked
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Telemetry unit with diagnoses including CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
* Must be able to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration including milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, Cardizem, lidocaine, Bumex, and heparin
* Key skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Special equipment available: Sara Steady and other lift equipment
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required
