Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac/Telemetry (5 North)

Job Details:

* 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
* Half of contract weekends required
* Patient ratios of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of nursing experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Charting system experience required; Epic charting system used
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care and management, arterial line management, vasoactive drip management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips, blood product administration, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, post cardiac angiogram care, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath care, pre/post cardiac surgery care, and wound care
* Additional skills include accessing and managing ports, PCA management, peripheral line care, tracheostomy care, sheath removal, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, feeding tube care, and use of rapid response and code teams
* Care for adult patients ranging from young adults through geriatric population
* Priority admissions include patients requiring medical level cardiac care and recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant
* Also responsible for hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients
* 16 orientation hours required

Facility:

This facility operates a 36-bed cardiac unit with all private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac care and telemetry services. The unit is supported by an extensive interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, interpretation services, and unit secretarial support. The facility is committed to delivering high-quality cardiac care across a broad patient population.
