Medical-Surgical ICU
Job Details:
* 3x12 day shifts with block scheduling
* Weekend coverage required with 6 shifts per 6-week period
* Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS*, PALS*
* Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
* Float required based on schedule
* Special equipment: CRRT (NXXT Stage)
* Key skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVVHD/CRRT, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
Facility:
This facility operates a Medical-Surgical ICU with a daily census of 14 patients, 12 rooms, and 16 beds. The unit provides comprehensive critical care services for adult and geriatric patients, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. The facility is equipped with specialized equipment and offers a full range of support services to ensure high-quality patient care in an intensive care setting.
