Opportunity:
CVICU / Registered Nurse
Job Details:
* Patient ratio of 1:1-2; ratios may vary if floated
* Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
* Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient mix includes fresh hearts, ventilated patients, chest tubes and lumbar drains, and chronic and acute renal failure patients
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required
* Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience with initial CVICU training may be considered
* First-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required skills include: Post Op Open Heart Recovery, Swan, FloTrac, Temporary Pacers, Arterial Lines, and Chest Tubes
* Must have experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, OR experience with fresh heart cases
* CVICU experience with fresh open hearts including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required
* Additional required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVVHD/CRRT, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, high flow nasal cannula, Impella, IABP, lumbar drain management, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
