Job Details:

* Float position covering LDRP unit with potential float to MedSurg and ER as needed
* Day shift hours: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and night shift hours: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Every other holiday requirement
* On-call requirement depends on staffing needs
* Block scheduling available; no self-scheduling
* 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
* Required certifications: BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
* Must be able to read and interpret fetal strips independently
* Required to titrate drips including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
* Must be proficient with Meditech EMR and Philips telemetry monitors
* EFM system used: Traceview/PIP
* Work within a 15-bed LDRP unit (7 L&D beds, 8 postpartum beds) with 1 OR suite for C-sections
* Unit averages approximately 58 births per month
* Follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 ratio for pitocin, magnesium, or insulin drips; 1:3 for couplet care
* Common patient diagnoses include hypertension, gestational diabetes mellitus, and obstetric/neonatal cases
* Scrub color is maroon; scrubs are provided and must be changed upon arrival to the unit
* Successful candidates should demonstrate adaptability, strong critical thinking, and excellent communication skills
* Previous travel experience preferred

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Critical Access Hospital providing comprehensive women's health and labor and delivery services. The unit operates as a locked unit with charge nurses present on every shift and CNAs available to assist with patient care tasks including vitals, transfers, ambulation, and patient turning. The facility maintains respiratory therapy equipment and follows established quality metrics to ensure high standards of patient care.
