Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 6-9 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule
* Must float within Zone 1 (60-mile radius based around Colorado Springs, CO) covering Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
* No home base facility - traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
* Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
* All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
* May be scheduled at a single facility for the week or assigned to a facility 1-2 hours before shift start (Just-In-Time)
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 dependent on acuity; may be asked to flex up to 1:3; 1:1 for high acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella
* Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and more
* Expected to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and breathing treatments
* Required to read and interpret own telemetry strips - no monitor technician available
* May be asked to float into any other acuity level including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
* May be asked to participate in the holiday rotation
* 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor
* Charting system: Epic
* Any scrub color permitted
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; first-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience
* Prior travel experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Facility:

This float pool position covers multiple acute care facilities within a 60-mile radius, offering a dynamic work environment across a network of hospitals. The facilities include a combination of ICU settings such as MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU, providing comprehensive critical care services. Each location is equipped with advanced respiratory equipment and utilizes Epic as the charting system, ensuring a consistent and high standard of patient care across all sites.
