Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* 8-hour day/mid shifts
* Regular staff schedules completed by seniority, with travel RNs placed in open shift times
* Ability to float to other facilities, including Walnut Creek on a PRN basis
* Patient ratio of 1:1
* Daily census of 25 patients with 22 beds
* Patient age groups include infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* Charting system: Epic
* Teaching hospital experience required
* 2 years of experience required
* Required experience areas: Ambulatory/Outpatient, Inpatient, Pedi PACU, Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, Pre-Post
* Preferred experience: Level I Trauma Center, PICU
* Required certifications: CA RN License, BSN, AHA BLS, PALS
* Key skills include: accessing/managing ports, airway assessment, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition/management, IV vasopressors, malignant hyperthermia protocol, management of pediatric patients, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), nerve blocks, pain assessment and management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and pre/post operative procedures
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

The PACU unit supports a high-volume surgical program serving pediatric and adolescent patient populations. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support and maintains high standards of patient care with access to advanced resources including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
