RN - CVPICU

Job Details:

* 13-week assignment with a December 7 start date only
* Variable 12-hour day and night shifts available
* Must be willing to work holidays - no holiday RTO allowed; must work 2 out of 3 holidays
* Maximum of 6 days of RTO; must still work 3 shifts per week
* 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule required; night shift includes any combination of Friday/Saturday nights and day shift includes Saturday/Sunday
* No on-call required
* Hours are guaranteed after the call-off policy has been met
* Block scheduling is not available
* Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
* Must float between units within scope of practice to meet facility needs
* Patient ratios: 1:1-2 or 1:3 on days
* High acuity unit caring for post-operative cardiac surgical patients, cardiology, congenital heart issues, and heart transplant patients
* Patients range from neonates through young adults; approximately 60% infants and 40% toddlers through young adults
* Travelers do not take patients during the immediate post-operative period
* Patients transition from intensive to intermediate care within the unit through discharge
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent CVPICU experience
* Must have pediatric cardiac experience - cardiac training is required
* Heart transplant experience required
* Previous children's hospital cardiac intensive care experience required
* Formal training in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU, including full orientation as a staff or core nurse, required
* Travel experience required
* California nursing license required
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Any color
* Free traveler parking available
* Required skills include: ventilator management, arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO, central line care, EKG interpretation, management of chest tubes, IV vasopressors, congenital heart disease/repair, heart transplant, post cardiac surgery care, and pediatric dosage calculations
