RN - Cardiac Stepdown
Job Details:
* Night shift position
* Contract length of 13 to 26 weeks with 48-hour or 36-hour workweek options accepted
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* 1 year of minimum EPIC EMR experience required
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling available
* 36 orientation hours required
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit census of 20 patients with 22 beds and 22 rooms
* Patient diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, PPM placement, defibrillator placement, ablations, arrhythmias, CVA, and medical telemetry overflow
* Required skills include blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, nasal cannula, PCA, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, post MI care, pre and post cardiac cath care, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, tracheostomy care and management, and use of rapid response and code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* May be required to float to other units for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* NIH certification required
* Medication and arrhythmia exam required
* Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information
* Two pre-approved time-off requests allowed per contract
