Opportunity:
Cardiac PCU RN
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
* First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
* Floating required to like units - must be flexible
* Every other weekend required
* Patient ratio is 1:4 across the board (can be 1:5 at midnight); high acuity and special procedures ratio is 3:1
* Self-scheduling unit with 36 beds and a daily census of 32
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient diagnoses include myocardial infarction, rule out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab with or without interventions, stroke patients with cardiac involvement, and specialized structural heart support (VAD, TAVR)
* Must have surgical telemetry experience including open heart surgery and vascular (groin/radial band management) and IV skills; VAD and TAVR experience preferred
* Must have 2-3 years of telemetry experience including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
* Perform and manage: breathing treatments, chest tube set-up and care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, sternal precautions, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, LVAD, and open heart 24-28 hours post-op
* Manage stable cardiac and vasoactive drips including Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Antiarrhythmics, Beta Blockers, Cardizem, Hydralazine, Ketamine, Lasix, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerin, and Levophed
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Epic experience is a hard stop requirement
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
