Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac Telemetry
Job Details:
* Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
* Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
* Contract nurses may be floated to any area where competency has been demonstrated
* Required dress code: Navy blue scrubs; black scrub pants with navy blue top are permitted
* Must have Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience with ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
* Must have experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
* Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
* Procedures performed on unit include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap, Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitors, EKG machines, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, and Imobile for team communication
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Unit staffing includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, using preferred names, making personal connections, involving patients in bedside shift report, and always asking if there is anything else needed before leaving the room

The unit emphasizes patient-centered care and utilizes modern technology including Imobile for streamlined team communication.
