RN - Clinical Nurse Educator

Job Details:

* Operate independently with limited oversight from the Staff Development Director
* Align practice with the Association for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) scope and standards of practice, including roles as learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, partner for practice transitions, and advocate for NPD specialty
* Utilize the nursing process to assess practice gaps, identify learning needs, facilitate positive learning environments, and evaluate outcomes
* Responsibilities include staff onboarding and orientation, competency management, department-specific educational training, and AHA life safety compliance management
* Implement evidence-based practice and research, staff role development offerings, mentorship, and support of health program student placements
* Partner and serve as a member of various committees including unit practice councils, risk management, quality improvement, ethics, and infection prevention
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required
* Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice in any U.S. state, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory required
* Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
* ANCC Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty certification required; if not currently certified, must complete certification review course within six months and attain ANCC NPD certification within one year of hire
* Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience in ICU, PCU, ER, or PACU/post-op recovery required
* Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical education and staff professional development within the past 2 years required
* Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience providing staff orientation, involvement in educational program presentations, or on-the-job training of clinical staff required
* Arizona state nursing license not required for this position

Facility:

This JCAHO accredited health center provides comprehensive medical services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for a large regional population. With a bed capacity of 73, the facility offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including emergency care, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery, and urological procedures. The medical staff includes a diverse team of specialists such as surgeons, internists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists, supported by a comprehensive nursing team including nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and CRNAs.
