Opportunity:
Surgical First Assistant
Job Details:
* Variable shift schedule
* Minimum of two years recent experience in field required
* Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
* Prepare and position patients for surgery and assist in visualization of the operating field
* Provide hemostasis, harvest surgical grafts, perform closure of incisions, and apply wound dressings
* Verify availability of surgical equipment and supplies including reserving equipment and implants per surgeon preference
* Prepare and maintain operating room environment according to surgical procedure including temperature, humidity, lighting, suction, and furniture
* Perform pre- and postoperative activities to facilitate optimal patient care
* Perform surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving
* Coordinate and participate in draping of patient
* Verify operative consent and other pertinent information including history and physical, advanced directives, and diagnostic results
* Review patient medical chart and associated documentation
* Obtain and review diagnostic studies and test results
* Work under direct supervision or within defined parameters
* Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
* High School Education/GED or equivalent required
