RN - ICU Float

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM schedule
* 6-9 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule
* Schedule is released 4-6 weeks in advance and managed by leadership
* Must be flexible to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
* All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
* Traveler cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
* No home base facility - must float within Zone 3 (Denver City Center area) which includes OrthoColorado Hospital (Lakewood), Longmont United Hospital (Longmont), St. Anthony Hospital (Lakewood), and St. Anthony North Hospital (Westminster)
* Traveler must be located within 60 miles of each facility in Zone 3 and is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating throughout the full zone feasible
* Schedules follow one of two formats: Option A (scheduled at a single facility for the week with possible float within that facility) or Option B Just-In-Time (facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call)
* Float ICU unit covering a combination of MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, and more
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 dependent on acuity; may be asked to flex up to 1:3; 1:1 ratio for high acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella
* Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and more
* May be asked to float into any other acuity level including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
* May be asked to participate in the holiday rotation
* Rare call or standby requirement for low census situations
* RNs are expected to read and interpret their own telemetry strips as there are no monitor technicians
* RNs expected to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and breathing treatments
* 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor required; must be in state for the week of orientation
* Charting system: EPIC experience preferred; first-time travelers must have Epic experience
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; first-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience
* Prior travel experience preferred
* Any color scrubs accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
