RN - NICU/Nursery

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
* Weekend and holiday requirements apply, typically equating to approximately 4 shifts Friday through Sunday within a 6-week block schedule
* Call and standby requirements in effect, with one mandatory call shift every 12 weeks
* Floating required as helping hands to other departments per hospital policy, including floating to mother-infant unit with patient assignment
* Level II NICU with 6 designated beds and 2 transition beds that can overflow to 8 with staffing
* Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN acuity standards, ranging from 1:2 or 1:3 in the NICU, and 1:3 for postpartum and well-baby assignments
* Must be able to attend deliveries and care for postpartum mothers, including couplet assignments up to a 1:3 ratio per AWHONN standards
* Common diagnoses include TTN, RDS, feeder growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia
* Respiratory equipment available includes vents, BCPAP, and HHFNC
* NNPs available 24/7 with neonatology support available via telehealth
* Charge nurse takes a patient assignment
* 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE Certification
* Any professional scrub colors accepted
* BSN not required

The unit is supported by NNPs available around the clock and neonatology services accessible via telehealth, ensuring continuous specialized care for patients.
