Opportunity:
Sleep Lab Technologist
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM with weekends as scheduled
* Acute care setting
* Charting system: EPIC
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Must reside within 50-mile radius of facility - copy of unexpired driver's license required at submission
* Must hold one of the following credentials: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with 18 months sleep lab experience, Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) through ABSM with 18 months sleep lab experience, or Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRTR/LRTC) with 1 year of experience
* Must be registered by the ABSM, NBRC, or BRPT (RST, RPSGT, or RRT-SDS)
* Minimum 1 year of sleep study scoring experience required
* Required certifications: BLS Certification and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Verification
* Perform high-quality polysomnograms and C-PAP titration studies
* Perform multiple sleep latency testing
* Utilize proper testing montages to detect abnormal sleep architecture, EEG/EKG abnormalities, abnormal respiratory events, and low oximetry
* Perform artifact-free polysomnograms and equipment pre- and post-testing including impedance checks and calibrations
* Obtain patient consents for video taping and polysomnograms
* Complete pre- and post-sleep questionnaires and patient registration
* Document patient sleep history, clinical notes, and event logs for physician interpretation
* Recognize sleep states, sleep efficiency, central apneas, and obstructive apneas
* Label, file, and store medical data and test results per Sleep Center Manual policies
* Must be able to stoop, kneel, stand for extended periods, and lift, carry, push and pull objects and patients of various weights
* Must have strong eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, and near, far, and night vision capabilities
* Background hits must be disclosed at time of submission
