Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Block schedules not required
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH scale and proficiency in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and other neurology diagnoses
* Epic charting system experience required (hard stop)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Caring for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patient populations
* Unit specializes in neuroscience including neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patients
* Designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation
* NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, offering comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties. With 629 staffed beds and teaching hospital status, the facility provides robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The neuroscience unit maintains a daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds.
