Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Minimum 1 year of neurology nursing experience required
* Must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit daily census of 48 with 64 beds
* Caring for patients with neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry diagnoses
* Designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation
* NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, craniotomy, CVA care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* 36 orientation hours
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal

This facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital designated as both a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it offers a robust clinical environment supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The facility maintains prestigious JCAHO designations for its stroke program and Spine Center of Excellence, as well as a Level 3 Epilepsy Center certification.
