Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Every other weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
* If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two of them
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 12 orientation hours required
* Patients served across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* 59-bed/room emergency department with a daily census of approximately 250 visits
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Facility is a Level 3 trauma center in process, primary stroke center, and CHF/STEMI/chest pain center
* Special equipment includes Arctic Sun and Glucommander
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (preferred), NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (preferred), ENPC (preferred)
* Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation (preferred), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation administration/monitoring (preferred), and triage
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required

This healthcare facility is a Level 3 trauma center in process and a designated primary stroke center, offering specialized cardiac services including CHF, STEMI, and chest pain center capabilities. The emergency department consists of 59 beds and manages approximately 250 patient visits per day. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and is equipped with advanced medical technology to support a wide range of patient care needs.
